Oracle has announced a $5 billion investment over the next five years to expand its cloud infrastructure in the United Kingdom, supporting the government’s ambitions for AI-driven growth and digital transformation.
The investment aims to provide businesses and public services with access to advanced AI, multi-cloud, and sovereign cloud solutions, fostering innovation across key sectors such as healthcare, finance, defence, retail, and manufacturing.
Peter Kyle MP, Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology, welcomed the move, describing it as a significant boost to the UK’s leadership in artificial intelligence.
“The UK is determined to lead the world in AI innovation, and today’s announcement from Oracle is a testament to our nation’s growing strength in this sector,” Kyle said.
“This $5 billion investment will accelerate our AI ambitions, providing businesses and public services with cutting-edge cloud infrastructure to drive productivity, enhance security, and unlock new opportunities for growth.”
Enabling AI Innovation and Cloud Transformation
The expansion will enable more UK organizations to migrate workloads to the cloud, modernize applications, and leverage AI technologies to drive efficiency and competitiveness.

Strengthening Multicloud Capabilities
As part of the investment, Oracle will enhance its multi-cloud capabilities, enabling seamless integration with leading cloud providers, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. This approach will ensure low-latency, high-performance AI-driven computing for UK organizations.
Oracle’s investment builds on its recent introduction of 50+ AI agents within its Fusion Cloud Applications Suite, which automates processes across finance, supply chain, HR, sales, and marketing.
