Founder and Managing Director of Adrian Kenya, Benard W. Njoroge, emerges Digital Economy Personality of the Week
The Digital Economy Magazine has named the Founder and Managing Director of Adrian Kenya, Benard W. Njoroge, as its Personality of the Week.
Benard W. Njoroge is an alumnus of Strathmore University, where he earned a master’s in business administration, and Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where he undertook the Executive Business Program.
A technology executive with over 20 years of experience, Njoroge’s career has seen him serve at FedEx and DHL, where he was the Technology Gateway Manager, and International Business Development Manager respectively. The experiences he gained early in his career increased his leadership skills, leading to him founding Adrian Kenya.
As MD of Adrian Kenya, Njoroge oversees strategic direction as the company provides services in telecommunication infrastructure, water infrastructure development and healthcare infrastructural solutions to African Markets. In 2020, the company launched the Adrian Technology and Innovation Centre (ATiC) as a platform to help aspiring young individuals launch their careers in the technology and telecoms industry.
Adrian Kenya’s innovations include an agricultural enterprise resource planning (ERP) software that farmers use for daily dairy farming management, a health and safety app used as a tool by Adrian engineers and technicians to ensure compliance and the digitization of its fibre rollout operations through ticketing and managed services software.
Under Njoroge’s leadership, Adrian Kenya currently stands as East Africa’s leading provider of technology and EPC solutions, with operations in the Telecommunications, ICT and Power sectors. Its innovative works have seen market leaders including Safaricom, Telkom Kenya, Astonfield Solesa Solar Kenya Limited, Obelisk, Airtel, and Kenya Power joining its list of clients.
Africa Data Centres Regional Executive for West Africa, Dr Krishnan Ranganath, emerges Digital Economy Personality of the Week
The Digital Economy Magazine has named Africa Data Centres Regional Executive for West Africa, Dr Krishnan Ranganath, as its Personality of the Week.
Dr Krishnan holds over 20 years of experience in the ICT and data fields. His leadership, marked by a commitment to fostering growth in emerging markets, has helped shape the future of ICT in Africa.
Dr. Krishnan embarked on his career in 1992. His extensive work with various multinationals in emerging markets, from India to Ghana and Nigeria, has equipped him with a unique perspective and an ability to manage complex multinational projects.
Beyond his technical and managerial prowess, Dr. Krish is deeply invested in promoting data centres in Africa. He has frequently engaged in conferences that have helped educate Africans on how to utilise data centres, lobbied Africa Data Centres to establish more data centres in West Africa, and helped formulate long-term ICT strategies and roadmaps tailored to the needs of emerging economies.
Holding an MBA in International Marketing and PhDs in International Marketing, Organisational Management and Strategy, and Enterprise-wide Risk Management & Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Dr Krishnan’s scholarly achievements reflect a deep understanding of the complex field of technology, management, and strategy.
His insights and forward-thinking approach are shaping data development in West Africa, paving the way for a digitally empowered future. His vision includes not only the expansion of technological infrastructure in Africa, but also the empowerment of local communities through education and capacity building.
Director General of Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority, Dr Jabiri Kuwe Bakari emerges Digital Economy Personality of the Week
The Digital Economy Magazine has named the Director General of Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA), Dr Jabiri Kuwe Bakari, as its Digital Economy Personality of the Week.
Dr. Bakari was appointed head of the TCRA in 2021 by President Samia Suluhu Hassan. Since then, he has worked to incorporate the use of digital technology in the organisation’s activities. His efforts at the TCRA have positively transformed Tanzania’s digital economy in a global age where digitalisation has become the norm.
With over 25 years of experience in ICT risks and security management, Dr Bakari has also achieved numerous managerial positions. Notably, Dr. Bakari was the inaugural CEO of the e-Government Agency, where he served from 2012 to 2020. He transformed the agency into the e-Government Authority (e-GA), establishing effective ICT systems, infrastructures, and governance frameworks. His advocacy for “Home-Grown ICT solutions” has significantly bolstered Tanzania’s e-Government capabilities.
Prior to his tenure at e-GA, Dr. Bakari was a Senior Lecturer and Director at the Open University of Tanzania, where he expanded ICT training centres nationwide and introduced Cisco Academies. He also helped found the Tanzania Education and Research Network (TERNET) in 2008.

Dr. Bakari’s research in ICT Security Management has been widely published, and he is an active member of ISACA, having served as Vice President of its Tanzanian Chapter. Additionally, he is a Certified Director and a facilitator at the Institute of Directors in Tanzania.
