Moniepoint Inc, Nigeria’s leading all-in-one financial ecosystem platform, has announced a major N3 billion investment to build three state-of-the-art Innovation Hubs at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), and Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) over the next three years.
The ambitious initiative, one of the largest private-sector investments in Nigerian higher education in recent years, aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry by equipping students with cutting-edge skills in software engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, robotics, product development, design, and entrepreneurship.
The hubs will serve as permanent centres for hands-on, cohort-based learning, mentorship, and real-world project execution, open to students across all faculties. The institutions were deliberately chosen to ensure geographic spread and equitable access to opportunity across Nigeria’s diverse regions.
Announcing the project at Obafemi Awolowo University on Tuesday, Moniepoint Group Co-founder and CEO Tosin Eniolorunda described the investment as a way of “paying it forward” to the Nigerian university system that shaped his own journey.
“When you look at the success of companies like Moniepoint, it’s easy to forget that it all started with the foundational training we received right here in Nigerian universities,” Eniolorunda said. “Nigeria’s digital economy cannot run on potential alone; it requires immense, localized talent density. These three Hubs are my contribution to making that future credible by creating a solid pipeline for the emergence of great products and ideas.”

He added that the investment represents a strategic move to build high-density, industry-ready tech talent capable of powering Africa’s digital economy.
Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamire, Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, welcomed the partnership, saying it aligns perfectly with the university’s mission of producing knowledge that serves society.
“This partnership with Moniepoint Group is a powerful affirmation of that conviction,” Prof. Bamire stated. “The Moniepoint Innovation Hub will not only expand what our students can learn but also transform what they believe is possible.”
Beyond infrastructure, Moniepoint will provide ongoing industry support through curriculum co-development, mentorship programmes, internships, and direct access to its engineering and business networks. The hubs are designed as active launchpads where students will work on live projects and build solutions relevant to African challenges.
The announcement ceremony was attended by the Vice-Chancellors of the three universities, senior academics, industry leaders, student representatives, and key Moniepoint executives including VP People Operations, Chinaza Nduka-Dike and SVP Enterprise Network Sales, Ifeanyi Duru.
