Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi has urged residents living in remote areas of the county to welcome the installation of mobile masts, where they have been earmarked. He made the call in response to a matter in Bartabwa ward in Baringo North Sub County, where some locals opposed the idea of setting up a mobile mast within their vicinity.

Cheboi condemned such actions, stating that communication equipment is of great importance to residents of Chepkesin, Chemoe and Kinyach, who are affected by insecurity challenges. He made the remarks when he signed a five-year collaboration agreement with the Kerio Valley Development Authority on conservation and sustainable development at Arap Moi Secondary School in Bartabwa Ward.
Accompanied by his deputy Engineer Felix Kipngok and other local leaders, Cheboi pointed out that such areas lack mobile network coverage, making it a challenge for residents to even report banditry attacks to the local administration. The Baringo Governor assured the residents that the misunderstanding will be quickly sorted out and a booster will be built in the area, allowing people to make calls without any difficulty.
