Africa Data Centres (ADC) is set to extend its footprint across West and North Africa, according to the company’s interim CEO, Finhai Munzara.
Speaking at the Africa Tech Festival 2024 in Cape Town, the interim CEO, Finhai Munzara revealed the company’s plans to capitalize on the continent’s growing demand for cloud and data services.
While South Africa currently represents the largest market for ADC in terms of scale, Munzara emphasized the company’s interest in tapping into opportunities in other regions. He attributed the demand surge to the accelerated adoption of cloud services and digital transformation, which are driving a significant shift from on-premises to third-party data centers across Africa.
Munzara also pointed to the entry of international companies into the African data center market as an encouraging sign, reinforcing the continent’s appeal as a new frontier for data services. “I think it’s confirmation of what we’ve always known; that the opportunity is here in Africa, and this is the next wave of growth,” he stated. He highlighted that this influx signals to global clients the feasibility of hosting their services locally, with numerous options available across the continent.
Describing ADC’s strategic role within Africa’s digital ecosystem, Munzara emphasized the company’s focus on building interconnected data centers in key economic hubs. “We are busy expanding our current facility in Nairobi and also in Lagos. Next to that, we will push further into West Africa and, of course, into North Africa where we are looking for opportunities,” he said.
Munzara offered insight into regional markets of interest as part of the company’s expansion goals. He noted that South Africa remains ADC’s largest market, catering to major clients and substantial deployments.

Owned by Cassava Technologies, ADC is positioning itself as a key player in Africa’s digital economy, aiming to strengthen the region’s infrastructure with a robust network of interconnected data centers. Munzara expressed optimism about the industry’s growth trajectory, envisioning a future of innovation and expanding capacity to serve Africa’s digital needs
