Telecommunications operator Paratus Namibia has entered into a partnership deal with local shop owners in Windhoek to brand and advertise its Mobile LTE services. Three shops located in informal areas have been selected for this initiative. The shops, independently owned and managed by local entrepreneurs, will now display Paratus branding and offer its services to customers. The branding and marketing efforts are facilitated by Namots, a marketing company specializing in creating business solutions for the informal sector.
This partnership marks the beginning of a larger expansion plan, as Paratus Namibia intends to open more shops in the future. With a significant portion of Namibia’s population, approximately 1.8 million people, considered untapped in terms of telecommunication services, this collaboration presents a substantial opportunity for the Paratus brand. The initiative not only reaches and educates the untapped market but also provides convenient access to services near their homes, benefiting the local communities.

The strategically located shops within the heart of the communities serve as effective and affordable billboards for Paratus customers. The approach has proven to be successful and the company aims to promote brand loyalty while generating job opportunities by training individuals from the community to run the stores and paying rental fees to community owners for the sites. Paratus Namibia actively manages and monitors the transactions at the outlets and provides monthly reports to their clients.
