Chennai-based technology firm Zoho Corporation has launched a privacy-focused web browser called Ulaa. The browser is designed to protect personal data by blocking tracking and website surveillance, with features including built-in user profile modes and privacy customization. Users can also sync their browsing sessions between devices, including individual tabs and browser windows, for a seamless browsing experience.

Zoho CEO and co-founder Sridhar Vembu said that existing browsers are built to protect ad-based business models and surveillance companies that complement them, rather than user privacy. With Ulaa, users can browse the web without compromising their privacy, he added.
Ulaa does not track or share data with third parties and prohibits DNS prefetching to prevent data caching. It also features ad and data tracking blockers, preventing targeted advertisements and identity theft. Additionally, the browser disables APIs that allow websites to connect and communicate with devices connected to the computer or Wi-Fi network.
