Rakuten Symphony and Zain KSA have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in building next-gen telecommunications networks using open standards and infrastructure. Rakuten Symphony provides telcos worldwide with the deployment of fully cloud-native network services based on open standards, advanced automation and orchestration, which enables firms to construct open, secure and cost-effective mobile networks quickly.
The MoU was announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC23) held in Barcelona from February 27 to March 2. Under the agreement, Rakuten Symphony and Zain KSA will partner to speed up the delivery of mobile network services using open technology to revolutionize wireless infrastructure, delivering cost-effective solutions promptly.
Zain KSA’s CTO, Eng Abdulrahman Al-Mufadda, said: “We will work closely with Rakuten Mobile and Rakuten Symphony to drive innovation and deliver top-class services that meet and anticipate the ever-growing demand for reliable, secure and ultramodern network experiences from our individual and enterprise customers”. The two companies plan to collaborate to deliver new-generation radio access solutions based on Open RAN 4G and 5G with advanced automation capabilities.
