Huawei Technologies is expanding its presence in the auto industry by partnering with more legacy automakers to produce Aito-branded electric cars, according to the company’s senior executive, Richard Yu. WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that will allow users to lock specific chats on the app using their fingerprint or passcode. The feature was discovered by WA Beta Info, which found it in an Android update of the app. With this feature, users will be able to lock their private chats through the chat contact or using group info. Accenture has announced the establishment of a cross-company centre of excellence (CoE) for generative AI and large language model (LLM), which will involve 1,600 employees from within the company. The CoE will be tasked with creating generative AI solutions for clients. Tech Mahindra, an Indian multinational technology company, has formed a strategic partnership with YIT Corporation, a Finnish construction and development firm, to offer a significant portion of YIT’s information technology services. Italy’s data protection authority, the Garante, has ordered OpenAI to cease processing individuals’ data locally with immediate effect, citing concerns that the company is breaching the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The Garante has opened an investigation into OpenAI’s activities, stating that it has issued the order due to concerns over the company’s allegedly unlawful processing of personal data and the lack of any system to prevent minors from accessing the technology. Krish-e, the agri-tech division of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, has launched the Krish-e Smart Kit, which enables farmers and rental business owners to remotely monitor their tractors and other agricultural machinery. The device uses GPS-enabled time tracking and connects to a smartphone, providing data on various parameters. The kit was developed by agritech firm Carnot Technologies, which is supported by Mahindra. Google Cloud has accused Microsoft of anti-competitive practices in cloud computing and criticised several imminent deals with European cloud vendors for not addressing broader concerns about licensing terms. Google Cloud’s Vice President, Amit Zavery, said the company had raised the issue with antitrust agencies and urged European Union regulators to investigate further. Twitter has announced three levels of access to its application programming interface (APIs) after announcing that the platform would no longer support free access to its APIs.
