According to reports from Platformer and The Information, Elon Musk has valued Twitter at $20 billion, less than half of the $44 billion he paid to acquire the social media platform. Accenture, the Irish-American professional services company, has announced that it will cut approximately 19,000 jobs, equivalent to 2.5% of its global workforce, over the next 18 months in an effort to reduce costs. The majority of the job cuts will be concentrated among back-office staff. Accenture will spend $1.2 billion on severance packages and another $300 million on consolidating office space. The company stated that it will continue to hire but will also streamline operations and transform non-billable corporate functions to save costs. Gordon Moore, the co-founder of Intel Corp and a pioneer in the semiconductor industry, passed away at the age of 94. Moore, who co-launched Intel in 1968, was an engineer and a key figure in the development of the “Intel Inside” processors used in more than 80% of the world’s personal computers. Oracle and NVIDIA are expanding their partnership to bring NVIDIA’s AI applications to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Supercluster. NVIDIA has selected OCI as its first hyperscale cloud provider to offer its AI supercomputing service, NVIDIA DGX Cloud, to a larger customer base. The Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) has launched the Kenya Innovation Bridge (KIB), a digital platform that aims to link and connect startups, innovators, researchers, tech hubs, partners and investors in the Lake region.
