Krish-e, the agri-tech division of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, has launched the Krish-e Smart Kit, which enables farmers and rental business owners to remotely monitor their tractors and other agricultural machinery. The device uses GPS-enabled time tracking and connects to a smartphone, providing data on various parameters. The kit was developed by agritech firm Carnot Technologies, which is supported by Mahindra. The Krish-e Smart Kit is suitable for use on any kind of tractor or farming machine, including harvesters, rice transplanters and self-propelled sprayers. Google Cloud has accused Microsoft of anti-competitive practices in cloud computing and criticised several imminent deals with European cloud vendors for not addressing broader concerns about licensing terms. Google Cloud’s Vice President, Amit Zavery, said the company had raised the issue with antitrust agencies and urged European Union regulators to investigate further. Twitter has announced three levels of access to its application programming interface (APIs) after announcing that the platform would no longer support free access to its APIs. The three tiers are free, basic and enterprise. The free tier will allow users to post 1,500 tweets a month at no cost. The basic tier is more suitable for students and hobbyists and allows 50,000 post requests and 10,000 read requests per app per month for a subscription fee of $100 per month. The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts has partnered with Moro Hub to expand its digital infrastructure storage using the world’s largest solar-powered green data centre. Moro Hub is a subsidiary of Digital DEWA and its green data centre, located at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, was recently inaugurated by the Crown Prince of Dubai. Honeywell has completed phase one of the Bangalore Safe City Project by installing over 7,000 video cameras powered by artificial intelligence (AI) systems across 3,000 locations in Bengaluru. The cameras will be used by the city police for surveillance, early detection of incidents and real-time data collection for future analysis. Google Cloud has partnered with Replit, a San Francisco-based start-up and online integrated development environment (IDE), to integrate its AI-based code suggestion tool into Google’s cloud platform. Replit’s Ghostwriter code generator is directly integrated into its browser-based online IDE, which can automatically complete code and respond to natural language queries, similar to a super autocomplete function. Zoom Video Communications has expanded its Zoom IQ smart companion tool, which summarises chat threads and organises ideas, drafts content and creates meeting agendas, among other things. The company also announced it will use OpenAI to bolster its unique federated approach to AI based on flexibility. SAP Labs India, a subsidiary of German software company SAP, has signed an MoU with the Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) in Bangalore, a private engineering college, to work together on technology research and innovation projects. The two organizations have already collaborated on a number of initiatives since February 2023. One of these programs, called Young Upstarts, aims to provide students with the tools and skills required to launch their own startups.
