Western Digital, a US-based data storage supplier, has revealed that it experienced a cyberattack last month, resulting in unauthorised access to multiple company systems, disruption of some business operations and the theft of some data. The incident was detected by the firm’s IT team on March 26 and an investigation is ongoing, with assistance from security and forensic experts and coordination with law enforcement authorities. Western Digital has taken some systems and services offline and is actively working on restoring impacted infrastructure and services. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), an Indian IT services company, has received a deal from Bane NOR, a Norwegian government agency, to offer managed cybersecurity services. The deal’s total duration and value were not disclosed. TCS will provide Bane NOR with identity governance and administration, access management, identity life cycle management and application management operations. Google has extended its Nearby Share feature to Windows PCs in beta, following its availability on Android phones and Chromebooks. The feature is comparable to Apple’s Airdrop and allows for quick and easy file sharing between Android devices and Windows PCs. The app can be downloaded from the Google Android website and is compatible with Windows 10 and up, with the 64-bit version of the operating system required. Swiggy’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Dale Vaz has resigned from his position and will be replaced by Madhusudhan Rao, the Senior Vice President of Consumer Tech and Fintech (engineering and product) at the company.
