The chatbot is powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT and was initially only available to Snapchat’s paid subscribers. It can be accessed in group chats by mentioning it with an ‘@’ symbol and users can ask questions, request creative content and receive augmented reality filter recommendations. Batelco, a part of the Beyon Group, has partnered with the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications and Bahrain Public Transport Company to launch a new service that will allow Prepaid and Lucky customers to recharge their Go cards via SMS text message. Atlassian, the provider of collaboration software such as Jira and Confluence, has integrated generative artificial intelligence (AI) into its collaboration software suite. Atlassian Intelligence, which was announced at the company’s annual user conference in Las Vegas, is designed to improve collaboration and efficiency in IT teams. Liquid Dataport, a subsidiary of Cassava Technologies, a pan-African tech company, has formed a partnership with ICOSNET, the sole private ISP provider in Algeria, to offer digital communication services to customers in the country. Britain’s cyber chief, Lindy Cameron, has warned that China is aiming for “global technological supremacy” in cyberspace and is using its cyber capabilities to conduct intelligence and surveillance campaigns.
