Spectranet Limited has appointed Sumit Gambhir, CA, as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO) as the Nigerian broadband provider strengthens its leadership team and prepares for its next phase of growth. Gambhir, who previously served as the company’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), brings more than two decades of international experience spanning telecommunications, technology and financial services.
New Leadership for Spectranet’s Next Phase
Gambhir’s appointment comes as Spectranet focuses on improving operational efficiency, strengthening its infrastructure and responding to changing customer expectations. In his new role, he will oversee company-wide operations and contribute to the company’s long-term infrastructure planning and expansion strategy.
The appointment coincides with Spectranet’s 15th anniversary, which the company is celebrating under the theme “15 Years and Counting.” The milestone highlights the company’s development since entering Nigeria’s broadband market and its efforts to adapt to changes in technology and consumer demand.

Focus on Network and Customer Experience
As part of its next phase, Spectranet is undertaking a network upgrade programme aimed at improving service reliability and expanding access to high-speed connectivity. The company also plans to increase its investment in its network backbone and expand its Spectranet Fiber Internet coverage for residential and business customers.
Commenting on his appointment and the anniversary, Gambhir said: “Fifteen years is a significant milestone, but for us, it is not a finish line. It is a moment to appreciate how far we have come and, more importantly, to look ahead at how much more value we can deliver to those who entrust us with their connectivity. Our subscribers have been at the very heart of this journey through every technological evolution. Gambhir also highlighted the company’s infrastructure priorities, saying: “We don’t want 15 years to be remembered merely as a campaign; we want it to mark the beginning of our strongest chapter yet. We are making significant investments in our network backbone, expanding high-speed coverage via Spectranet Fiber Internet, and refining operational workflows to ensure a seamless, reliable experience for homes and businesses alike.”
Building on 15 Years of Broadband Operations
Before becoming COO, Gambhir played a role in developing the financial and operational structures that supported Spectranet’s early 4G LTE rollout. His international career includes senior financial and operational responsibilities in the United States and India.
A Chartered Accountant (CA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Gambhir also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, University of Delhi.
Outlining his priorities in the new role, Gambhir said: “The next phase of Spectranet will be defined by execution. We have a solid foundation, a trusted brand, and a deep customer base. Our mandate now is to translate those strengths into operational excellence, superior service quality, and sustainable market expansion.”
