MTN Digital Infrastructure, the parent company of Bayobab, has announced the appointment of Wanita Ramsubak as the new General Manager: Digital Infrastructure Planning and Integration, effective 1 May 2026.
Wanita will report directly to Mazen Mroué, CEO of MTN Digital Infrastructure.
With over a decade of experience spanning the telecommunications value chain, Wanita brings deep expertise in wholesale, enterprise, fixed, and mobile infrastructure across Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas. She first joined the MTN Group in 2018 as Senior Manager: Group Strategy and Transformation and most recently served as General Manager: Technology Infrastructure.

During her time at MTN, Wanita has played a key role in several strategic initiatives. She led the development of MTN Group’s Science-Based Emissions Target under its Project Zero (Net Zero) strategy and supported its implementation across the Group’s footprint. She has also driven critical energy efficiency and optimisation programmes across passive infrastructure, while contributing significantly to infrastructure monetisation, TowerCo engagements, and data centre strategy and resilience.
Prior to joining MTN, Wanita built a strong career in Technology, Media and Telecoms (TMT) management consulting at Delta Partners, where she rose to the position of Team Lead, advising clients on strategic and operational transformation across multiple markets.
She holds a Bachelor of Business Science degree in Quantitative Management, majoring in Statistics, from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and has completed an executive leadership programme at the London Business School.
