CEO of SpaceX and owner of X (formerly Twitter), Elon Musk, has announced that his artificial intelligence (AI) startup, xAI, is gearing up to launch the latest version of its chatbot, Grok-1.5, next week
According to a statement released by xAI last Thursday, Grok-1.5, an upgraded version of Grok, will soon be accessible to early testers and existing Grok users on Musk’s social media platform X. The company aims to provide users with an enhanced conversational experience through the deployment of this advanced chatbot.
In a post on X, Musk also revealed that the Grok 2 chatbot was currently undergoing training. He expressed confidence that it was set to “exceed current AI on all metrics.”
This announcement comes in the wake of Musk’s recent declaration that xAI plans to open-source Grok. The decision to make the technology freely available follows a legal dispute between Musk and Microsoft-backed OpenAI, where Musk accused the ChatGPT creator of deviating from its original non-profit mission in favor of a profit-driven approach.
Established by Musk last year, xAI has been positioning itself as a formidable competitor against industry giants such as OpenAI and Alphabet’s Google. technologies.
