Horizon Technologies, a member of the Rebound Plastic Exchange, has received a Food Grade Certification of Conformity from the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) for its recycled PET granules. This certification demonstrates that Horizon Technologies’ recycled PET granules meet the strict safety and quality standards required for use in food packaging. The MoIAT regulates the use of recycled plastic water bottles in accordance with the UAE Regulation for Control on Food Contact Material and aims to expand the use of recyclable materials in the packaging industry.

Horizon Technologies recycles approximately 900-1000 tonnes of used plastic bottles each month at its facility in Fujairah, representing a significant portion of the PET bottles used in the UAE. The support provided by the Rebound Plastic Exchange aligns with their commitment to assisting businesses in the Middle East that recycle and trade high-quality plastics locally, regionally and globally.
