Cassava Technologies has announced significant changes to its leadership team as it gears up for its next phase of growth and enhanced competitiveness in the global digital solutions market.
The London-based technology group stated that the leadership restructuring follows the successful completion of its equity round and a business reorganization aimed at strengthening its integrated digital solutions platform. The company says the new appointments will bolster its capabilities in key areas, including broadband connectivity, data centers, cloud computing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and payment services across more than 30 markets in Africa, the Middle East, India, and Latin America.
Founded in 2021 by Group Chairman Strive Masiyiwa, Cassava Technologies has positioned itself as a leader in digital infrastructure and services. The company’s strategy focuses on aligning with evolving market demands and technological advancements while fostering a culture of adaptability and innovation.

Key Executive Appointments Effective March 1, 2025
As part of its leadership restructuring, Cassava Technologies has announced the following appointments:
1)Ahmed El Beheiry has been named Chief Operating Officer and Chief AI Officer, overseeing commercial strategy, business processes, CIO functions, and supply chain operations.
2)Deon Geyser has been appointed CEO of Liquid Networks, responsible for managing the company’s connectivity business across Africa, including fibre, satellite, wireless, and wholesale voice services.
3)Ziaad Suleman will lead Cassava Technologies’ South African operations as CEO, driving growth and innovation strategies in the region.
4)Adil El Youssefi will take on the role of CEO of the co-location business, overseeing data centre operations.
5)Wellington Makamure has been named CEO for the Rest of Africa and International division, managing Cassava Technologies’ expansion across multiple regions.
6)Finhai Munzara will serve as Chief Corporate Development Officer, overseeing mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and strategic partnerships.
7)Bronwen Zehmke has been appointed Group General Counsel.
8)Leonard Bore will take on the role of Chief Risk and Compliance Officer, responsible for compliance risk, enterprise risk, internal audit, and ESG initiatives.
9)Sharon Marufu has been named Chief Supply Chain Officer, leading group-wide supply chain and procurement operations.
10)Lorreta Songola will serve as Managing Director of Cassava Technologies’ operations in Zimbabwe.
