Mastercard and Trip.com have partnered to demonstrate how AI-powered and agentic commerce technologies could transform the way consumers search for, book and pay for travel services.
The initiative is powered by Mastercard’s Agent Suite for Merchants and developed in partnership with Network International. It demonstrates how travelers can use Trip.com’s AI agent, TripGenie, to discover travel options, make bookings and complete purchases through an integrated digital experience.
As consumers increasingly use AI assistants to discover products, compare choices and make purchasing decisions, Mastercard’s Agent Suite for Merchants is designed to help businesses integrate agent-powered shopping experiences into their existing e-commerce platforms.
The collaboration combines Trip.com’s travel ecosystem with Network International’s acquiring capabilities and Mastercard’s payments network, gateway infrastructure and agentic commerce technologies to create an end-to-end framework for AI-powered travel transactions.

“AI is changing travel from a search experience into a much more intelligent and personalized journey. Together with Mastercard, we are shaping the next generation of AI-powered commerce through Agent Suite for Merchants, exploring how AI agents, operating securely and with the traveler’s authorization, can intelligently facilitate travel-related transactions. Ultimately, our role is not just to help travelers find the right trip, but to make their entire journey, from discovery and planning through to booking and payment, much simpler, faster and more connected.”*

The solution is initially focused on selected travel services, including attractions and other ancillary offerings. TripGenie is being showcased exclusively at the Arabian Travel Market as a global first, while the partners plan a phased rollout and commercial launch targeted for early 2027.
