Cybastion has announced a planned $75 million investment in an AI-powered data centre and power plant in Cameroon, as the U.S.-based technology company strengthens its digital infrastructure presence across Africa.
The investment was disclosed by the U.S. Embassy in Cameroon on August 27, during the inaugural U.S.-Cameroon Bilateral Economic and Commercial Dialogue held in Douala.
The project is part of a wider announcement by the U.S. Embassy highlighting approximately $7 billion in new and expanding U.S. investment and trade opportunities in Cameroon.
Prior to the bilateral dialogue, Cybastion’s Senior Director of Infrastructure Solutions, Daniel Epee Lea, moderated a high-level panel organised by the U.S. Embassy on August 26. The discussion brought together government officials and private-sector stakeholders to explore Cameroon’s digital economy, investment climate and opportunities within the technology sector.

The panel featured François Joseph Nemete Beyeme, Director of Telecommunications and ICT Regulation at Cameroon’s Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications; Dr. Divine Anye, CEO of Info Pro Solutions; and Ayuk Etta, founder of Mountain Hub.
Discussions centred on key areas including digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, as stakeholders examined both the opportunities and challenges shaping Cameroon’s technology ecosystem.
The proposed AI-powered data centre and power plant will expand Cybastion’s growing portfolio of digital infrastructure projects across Africa while contributing to the development of advanced computing capacity, reliable power infrastructure and digital technology services in Cameroon.
