Japanese multinational technology company, Konica Minolta, has been recognised as a Market Leader in market research firm, Quocirca’s latest assessment of the Cloud Print Services Landscape for 2024, published on 16th May, 2024.
Quocirca’s research indicated a 14% increase in organisations using cloud print management solutions, with adoption rates climbing from 55% in 2023 to 69% in 2024. The trend is expected to continue, with 26% of respondents planning to adopt cloud print management solutions in the near future.
Despite this growth, security has remained the top barrier to adoption, with 32% of respondents citing the protection of corporate data as a major concern. Among those already using cloud print management solutions, 36% have adopted a zero-trust model, with another 42% planning to do so by 2025.
Konica Minolta’s commitment to security has been a significant factor in its market leadership. Quocirca’s report praised the company’s ‘robust security,’ noting that its cloud services marketplace, Workplace Pure, adhered to the highest security and data confidentiality standards demanded by its customers. Developed under the Data Protection by Design principle, Workplace Pure supports various authentication systems to ensure comprehensive security.
Additionally, Konica Minolta has offered the SAFEQ Cloud, a recently launched, all-in-one cloud-native print management and scanning solution. This solution includes policy-based authentication controls, a least privilege access model, a zero-trust approach, secure network traffic for metadata and print jobs, and compliance with ISO 27001, CCM, and CAIQ standards. SAFEQ Cloud supports businesses transitioning to a cloud-first print strategy.
Quocirca’s report also noted the suitability of Konica Minolta’s cloud solutions for organisations of all sizes. This is backed by the company’s established cloud print infrastructure services, remote monitoring and management, and extensive security services.
Head of International Marketing Division, Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe, Olaf Lorenz, stated, “we are proud to be recognised as a Market Leader in cloud print services. The growth reported by Quocirca reflects our experience at Konica Minolta. Organisations of all sizes are recognising not only the operational and productivity gains it delivers but also a higher level of data, document, and print security.” He added that “this is an important message for those who still perceive it as a barrier to reaping the rewards of a cloud-first print strategy,”
In its Market Leader categorisation, Quocirca acknowledged Konica Minolta as a vendor that excels in both strategic vision and service depth. Leaders in this category have made extensive investments in their service portfolios and infrastructure, supported by strong delivery capabilities.
