National Communications Authority Deputy Director-General Suleman Salifu has called for stronger collaboration between Ghanaian and Zambian technology ecosystems to drive digital transformation, innovation, and cross-border investment.
He made the call during a high-level bilateral meeting between the two countries’ communications and technology sector ministries, held at the NCA Tower in Accra.
The two-day engagement, hosted by the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations and led by sector Minister Samuel Nartey George, brings together regulators, policymakers, and private sector players to strengthen cooperation in key areas such as fintech, cybersecurity, and digital infrastructure.
Mr. Salifu reaffirmed the NCA’s commitment to maintaining an enabling regulatory environment that promotes competition, innovation, and sustainable growth in Ghana’s communications sector.
The meeting builds on earlier agreements reached during the recent state visit of John Dramani Mahama to Zambia, where both countries pledged to deepen diplomatic and economic ties under the African Continental Free Trade Area framework. A major outcome of that visit was the Ghana–Zambia Business Dialogue, which focused on expanding partnerships in digital and financial technology services.

Leading the Zambian delegation is Felix Mutati, alongside representatives from technology firms and innovation hubs exploring business opportunities within Ghana’s growing digital ecosystem. Discussions are expected to unlock new partnerships, enhance knowledge exchange, and support enterprise development across both markets.
In his presentation, Mr. Salifu outlined the NCA’s regulatory framework and its role in fostering investment and innovation. He emphasized that cross-border collaboration remains critical to Africa’s digital future, noting that stronger Ghana–Zambia partnerships will help scale solutions to shared challenges while creating jobs and economic value.
He concluded by inviting Zambian technology companies to leverage Ghana’s expanding digital market, assuring them of the NCA’s support in building impactful partnerships that advance innovation and inclusive growth in both countries.
