Ericsson has unveiled a new software solution called RedCap, which aims to enable and enhance 5G use cases for a wide range of devices including smartwatches, wearables and industrial sensors. RedCap, a reduced capability RAN software, reduces complexity and extends battery life, offering improved connectivity for these devices. The German government has finalized plans to sign an agreement with Intel, marking the conclusion of negotiations regarding the establishment of a new chip-making complex in Germany. Although the exact amount of state funding for the project in the central German city of Magdeburg has not been officially disclosed by Berlin, reports suggest that Intel is expected to receive significant subsidies. Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd (HFCL), a technology company, has been awarded an ₹80.92 crore contract to install a Fibre Optics Transmission System (FOTS) for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Limited. The project, part of Phase-IV of the Delhi Metro Rail Project, involves the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the FOTS for three priority corridors. HFCL has a timeline of 156 weeks from the notice to proceed (NTP) to complete the project. Additionally, the company will provide warranty support for a period of 104 weeks.
