Cloudflare, a leading provider of connectivity cloud solutions, has unveiled Speed Brain, a new free product aimed at accelerating webpage loading by up to 45%.
Designed for use with popular web browsers, Speed Brain eliminates loading delays by predicting the next page a user is likely to visit and preloading it into the browser cache before the user even clicks.
Web speed has always been a critical factor in enhancing online experiences. Over the years, internet performance has evolved from waiting minutes for a song to load, to considering 100 milliseconds as fast enough for “ideal browsing.” One of the remaining obstacles to instant loading is the delay in downloading elements of a visited webpage, from HTML files to static images. Speed Brain aims to remove this wait entirely, offering near-instantaneous page rendering.
“Speed Brain has made millions of websites almost 50% faster overnight. This allows users worldwide to browse, communicate, learn, and work much faster and more reliably,” said Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare. “We believe that no one should pay for faster page loading, and that every internet user deserves the best experience. Many have tried to reduce loading times, but only Cloudflare is uniquely positioned to make this a reality for the vast number of people using our network.”
Speed Brain uses prefetching to load the content of the page a user is most likely to visit next. It currently estimates the next page based on the user’s cursor position over a link or just before a click. In 2025, Cloudflare plans to introduce more advanced methods using machine learning and AI to predict the next page a user will visit, based on previous web traffic patterns and user input.
For instance, if Speed Brain is enabled on a clothing e-commerce site, it could predict that a user browsing the “Men > Clothing” page is likely to click on “Shirts,” allowing the content to be preloaded and displayed instantly once the link is clicked.
This innovation is made possible by the Chrome Speculation Rules API and Cloudflare’s extensive global network, which operates between clients and servers, enabling accurate predictions.

Speed Brain is now available for free with all Cloudflare plans. It is automatically enabled for millions of domains under the Free plan, while Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans can activate it manually with one click. Speed Brain is compatible with Chromium-based browsers like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
