The most widely-used messaging and calling app, WhatsApp is reportedly going to launch some interesting new features. WhatsApp news platform WaBetaInfo revealed that the app is developing a new version with a feature for scheduled calls like Zoom and Google Meet.
The new version will also transcribe English voice notes.
These new features are available in version 2.23.4.4 WhatsApp beta for Android.
WaBetaInfo attached a WhatsApp screenshot along with its report published earlier this month.

The screenshot reveals that there is a ‘schedule call’ option and a ‘call button’. Once a user clicks on the ‘schedule call’ option, three more options ‘title’, ‘select date’, and ‘time’ open up. Users can enter details to schedule the call.
Once all the details are entered, users need to press ‘create’ to fix the appointment. Users will be alerted about the call on both sides. Also, calls can be joined midway.
Till now, this feature was available only in Zoom and Google Meet. Overall, scheduling calls on apps can help people be more organized, productive, and efficient in their communication and collaboration with others.
By scheduling calls, people can better plan their day and ensure they have enough time to prepare for and participate in the call. This can help prevent scheduling conflicts and ensure that important meetings are not missed.

Zoom also provides breakout rooms for smaller group discussions and polling and Q&A features which even Google Meet does not have.
