The eighth edition of the Africa Digital Economy Awards (ADEA) is set to be held tonight at the Emara Ole Sereni Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya, marking its first-ever showing in Kenya, and outside of West Africa.
Themed “Celebrating Digital Excellence,” ADEA 2023 seeks to honour Africa’s digital champions, innovators, creatives, and inventions that have significantly shaped the digital growth and security of the continent’s digital economy.
Powered by Digital Economy Magazine, a publication of ISO-certified InstinctWave Group, the awards event acknowledges and celebrates the transformative impact of digital innovations across multiple African sectors. ADEA also aligns with the African Union’s digital transformation strategy for Africa, seeking to propel growth in the continent’s digital economy.
Over the last eight years, ADEA has been pivotal in promoting numerous digital leaders and organisations across the continent. Excited about the awards and what ADEA represented, Group Publisher of Digital Economy Magazine, and InstinctWave Group CEO, Solomon Akin Naphtal, stated, “We are proud to continue our mission of promoting Pan-African digitalization through ADEA.”
He added, “If governments and the private sector continue to build the right foundations, digitization could transform sectors as diverse as agriculture, retail, and healthcare and contribute as much as $300 billion a year to Africa’s GDP by 2025.”
ADEA’s Gala Night
Digital Economy Magazine says ADEA’s gala night will be an unforgettable evening of entertainment, networking, and collaboration. It will also provide a unique platform for thought leaders to share insights and collectively shape the future of Africa’s digital landscape.
Attendees include dignified tech leaders, and private and public sector organizations from Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, and various other African countries, demonstrating a joint effort to advance Africa’s digital economy sector. The awards will spotlight outstanding achievements in fields such as digital innovation, cybersecurity, e-commerce, and fintech.
Having successfully hosted seven editions in West Africa, ADEA’s move to Kenya in its 8th edition signifies its commitment to fostering Pan-Africanism in digitalisation. This strategic shift reflects the organisation’s dedication to acknowledging and appreciating the contributions of digital pioneers across the continent.
As Africa’s digital economy continues to evolve, ADEA plays a pivotal role in recognising and promoting excellence, encouraging innovation that transcends borders. The gala night is expected to not only applaud past accomplishments in Africa’s tech sector but also inspire a new wave of digital initiatives that will empower Africa’s economic development.
