Apple is once again rumored to be introducing solid-state volume and power buttons with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, with respected industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claiming that the new devices will feature additional Taptic Engines to simulate the feel of physical buttons.
Apple first introduced a non-moving solid-state home button with the iPhone 7, which simulated the feel of a physical press by using the Taptic Engines to mimic the feel of a press by providing haptic feedback to offer the illusion of clicking and moving parts.

According to Kuo, Apple supplier Cirrus Logic will benefit the most from the increased Taptic Engine orders for the new devices, which will allow the iPhone maker to remove physical buttons and protect against water ingress for better water resistance.
Following information rumoured by the company, the solid-state volume and power buttons have been quoted by several sources to be coming to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max later this year, with Haitong International Research analyst Jeff Pu suggesting last week that in addition to the non-moving buttons, the new devices will feature an all-new titanium frame and 2GB extra RAM compared to the iPhone 14 Pro lineup, taking the total available RAM to 8GB.
