Tesla has launched the revamped version of its popular Model 3 sedan in North America, maintaining existing price points for the vehicle, as reported on the company’s website and a post on the platform X.
Notably, the electric car manufacturer has removed the “performance” variant, which is the most expensive Model 3 version, from its North American websites. The current listings feature the rear-wheel-drive and long-range variants.
The Model 3’s rear-wheel-drive variant is priced at $38,990, while the long-range variant comes in at $45,990. Tesla has also upgraded the range of the long-range variant to 341 miles, an improvement from the previous 333 miles.
The restyled versions of both variants showcase new features, including a rear display designed for backseat passengers, two additional colour options, namely, “Stealth Grey and Ultra Red”, and newly styled wheels, according to information available on Tesla’s official website.
Tesla initially introduced the restyled Model 3 in China in September 2023, albeit at a higher price point. The upgraded vehicle subsequently became available in Europe a month later.
The Model 3 rear-wheel drive and long-range models no longer qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit, based on updated guidelines under the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act, effective at the end of the previous year.
Despite losing its position as the top electric vehicle (EV) maker by sales to China’s BYD, Tesla reported record-breaking EV deliveries in the fourth quarter. This accomplishment exceeded market estimates and allowed the company to meet its 2023 target.
