A new service that caters to the needs of people with special needs was launched by MTN Uganda on Saturday, October 21st, 2023, at their Service Centre in Lugogo Forest Mall, marking a milestone in digital inclusion.
With this initiative, MTN Uganda, a leading provider of telecommunications and digital solutions, is taking a huge step towards making digital access more inclusive and equitable for everyone, no matter what their abilities or situations are. As this aligned with MTN’s Ambition 2025 strategy and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 10 (UNSDG 10), the event was graced by various stakeholders, such as representatives from UNAD, who saw the Priority Services in action during a demonstration.
Dorcas Muhwezi, the General Manager of Customer Experience at MTN Uganda, expressed her enthusiasm about the launch of Priority Services, stating, “At MTN, we believe in leaving no one behind. Our commitment to making a positive impact is deeply rooted in our Ambition 2025 strategy, where we aim to lead the way in providing digital solutions for Uganda’s progress. By introducing Priority Services, we’re addressing the digital inclusion gap and actively working towards UNSDG 10, which calls for reducing inequalities.”
MTN Uganda’s Priority Services are designed to meet the diverse needs of our customers and ensure that they have a comfortable and convenient experience. Some of the main benefits include:
First, Skilled Customer Service Agents: We have a team of trained agents who can communicate and help customers with special needs effectively.
Second, Ramps for High Surfaces: where we care about accessibility and we have ramps to make our service centers easy to access for those who have difficulty moving.
Also, Special Counter where we have dedicated counters for customers with special needs, so they can get quick and attentive service.
Then, Signs and Rails where we have visual aids and rails to help customers with disabilities navigate our service centers.”
The launch event also showcased MTN’s initiative to work closely with UNAD. “We’re excited to host customers from the Uganda National Association of the Deaf, and we’re looking forward to demonstrating how our Priority Service works in action. Collaboration with organizations like UNAD is essential to achieving our vision of an inclusive digital world,” Ms. Muhwezi added.
As we continue our journey to become the biggest and most valuable business platform in Africa, MTN Uganda is dedicated to delivering the best connectivity services to all our customers, while ensuring that no one is left out.
MTN Uganda’s Priority Services for people with special needs signify a giant leap towards a more equitable, inclusive, and connected society, embodying our motto of “Together We Are Unstoppable.”
