The Omniverse, a national network co-created in collaboration with the Innovation Support Network (ISN), and comprising 180 innovation hubs, incubators, accelerators, and coworking spaces across Nigeria is set to launch its inaugural Summit.
The Omniverse Summit, which will be held at Landmark Centre in Lagos, Nigeria, will begin on 27th February and end on 1st March 2024. It aims to serve as a dynamic convergence platform for the brightest minds in African innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship.
Supported by the Digital Transformation Centre Nigeria, a joint initiative funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, The Omniverse Summit is structured around four core themes: Narrative, Innovation, Collaboration, and Monetisation.
Convener of The Omniverse Summit, Obi Asika, has expressed his vision for the event as a dynamic convergence platform that unites minds in African innovation, and transcends physical boundaries.
“The Omniverse Summit stands as the tangible embodiment of our audacious vision, a dynamic convergence platform that unites the brightest minds shaping the kaleidoscope of African innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship. It transcends physical boundaries, serving as a nexus where individuals and organisations synergize, exchanging knowledge, pooling resources, and collectively forging solutions to the intricate challenges confronting our continent and communities. In this interconnected space, technology acts as the unifying force, propelling us towards a future where innovation knows no limits.” He said
Day One: The Narrative Day
The first day of the summit will delve into narratives about Africa and Africans, exploring how these narratives shape self-perception, global image, and their impact on economies, societies, and geopolitics. The focus is on rebuilding, reframing, and reclaiming narratives towards a shared future that positions African markets for investment.
Day Two: The Innovation Day
The second day will explore layers of innovation beyond technology, highlighting pioneers revolutionising their fields. The aim is to understand strategies for nurturing and inspiring innovation at all levels despite challenges.
Day Three: The Collaboration Day
The third day will delve into the mechanics of successful collaborations, analysing productive partnerships, purposeful alliances, and fostering effective collaborations. The goal is to facilitate partnership deals and conversations.
Grand Finale: Monetisation Day
The Grand Finale will unpack the science of making money, exploring effective strategies and approaches for building resilient, profitable careers and businesses.
Apart from the main stage, the summit will feature activities across four additional stages/rooms:
- Development Room: Information and guidance from development partners for prospective implementation partners seeking project funding.
- Deal Room: A space for potential collaborators to meet, negotiate, and potentially close deals, with legal and business experts providing guidance.
- Sage’s Lounge: Intimate conversations with industry icons offering wisdom and advice based on their extensive careers.
- Career Centre: Expert advice on career advancement, industry transitions, and job opportunities.
Charles Emembolu, Chairman of the Board, ISN, also spoke on the company’s objectives in co-spearheading The Omniverse, stating, “our objective is to obliterate silos, forging an interconnected future where collaboration is paramount. The Omniverse will be the crucible where ideas transmute into opportunities, fostering sustainable growth, profound impact, and unparalleled development.”
