In its bid to empower businesses and young innovators in Africa, HabariPay’s Squad has announced the launch of its inaugural hackathon, “Take on Squad Hackathon 1.0”, scheduled for 19th to 20th January, 2024, at the GTCO Training Complex in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The hackathon aims to engage young innovators in Nigerian universities and tertiary institutions, and challenges participating teams to devise innovative solutions to address issues within their immediate communities and broader society.
The event seeks to positively impact young Nigerians by offering a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators to develop transformative technological solutions collaboratively. Participants will have exclusive access to leverage Squad’s cutting-edge APIs for their ideas.
The two-day event will feature intense coding sessions on day one, followed by product demos, panel discussions, and the announcement of winners on day two. The winning team with the most innovative idea will be awarded N2.5 million, with the first runner-up receiving N1.5 million and the third-placed team receiving N1 million. Additionally, the top three teams will have the unique opportunity to join the Squad Hackademy, providing mentorship, access to internships, and job opportunities facilitated by Squad.
