MTN Group Fintech has named Network International as its official payment processing partner, a move set to enhance digital financial services across Africa.
The collaboration strengthens Network International’s presence in the region, expanding its portfolio of issuer processing services. With operations in over 50 countries and partnerships with more than 250 financial institutions, the company aims to leverage its expertise to support MTN Fintech’s growing mobile financial services ecosystem.
MTN Group, which serves over 288 million customers across 14 African markets, confirmed that the partnership will facilitate the rollout of card issuance products in key markets. Rwanda has already gone live, with Uganda, Ivory Coast, and Nigeria set to follow soon.
“Network International will provide a comprehensive suite of services, including transaction processing, card management, and online fraud prevention,” MTN Group stated. “This will ensure a seamless experience for users, bridging traditional mobile services with innovative digital payment solutions.”

Dr. Reda Helal, Group Managing Director – Processing, Africa, and Co-Head of Group Processing at Network International, hailed the collaboration as a “major milestone” in outsourced payments services across the continent. “It demonstrates our ability to successfully serve mobile network operators through our end-to-end processing solutions while reaffirming our commitment to Africa,” he said.
Cedric N’guessan, Executive for Payment and E-commerce at MTN Group Fintech, described the partnership as pivotal in driving financial inclusion. “By working with Network International, we enable our customers to fully participate in the global economy, aligning with our broader strategy—alongside Mastercard—to expand digital financial services across Africa.”
