Liquid Intelligent Technologies, a leading pan-African technology group, has announced a distribution partner agreement (DPA) with Eutelsat Group to introduce enterprise-grade Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite services across Africa.
Eutelsat Group, renowned as the world’s first satellite operator with an integrated GEO-LEO infrastructure, is poised to revolutionise connectivity on the continent through this partnership.
“Liquid has always been committed to technological innovation in Africa,” CEO of Liquid Intelligent Technologies, Ahmed El Beheiry stated. He added that “our collaboration with Eutelsat signifies a milestone in bringing cutting-edge LEO services to our customers across multiple countries in Africa, empowering them with high-speed solutions and unlocking new possibilities for connectivity.”
VP Connectivity, Africa, Philippe Baudrier, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, saying, “we are thrilled to work with Liquid to introduce new connectivity services throughout Africa. Liquid has a proven track record and a longstanding commitment to connect African businesses. Working together and leveraging Eutelsat Group’s innovative LEO services, we can unlock new opportunities for enterprises and communities. We look forward to the positive impacts we can have to help Liquid’s customers flourish, especially in the mining industry in Central Africa.”
The integration of the OneWeb LEO satellite network by Liquid Dataport marks a significant advancement in satellite technology. This integration not only provides low-latency satellite services but also introduces a network interconnect that enables seamless services integration across the LEO satellite access and Liquid Dataport core network infrastructure. This development is crucial for enhancing performance in applications such as cloud computing, video conferencing, and real-time applications, making it a game-changer for Liquid Dataport’s customers.
Beyond the technical benefits, the partnership will expand Liquid Dataport’s reach, offering customers a streamlined experience and positioning Liquid as the preferred one-stop shop for a range of connectivity and other services. The enterprise access with Internet breakout and Point-to-Point services further add to the versatility and robustness of the solutions provided.
As Eutelsat’s OneWeb network coverage continues to expand, Liquid Dataport is planning a systematic rollout of services, aligning with the growing demand for low-latency primary and backup services in remote regions of Africa. This expansion is set to benefit a range of businesses across various industries, particularly as new LEO satellite constellations emerge over the next three years, providing agile and cost-effective solutions for entering and expanding markets.
For Liquid Intelligent Technologies, this collaboration is about more than just services; it’s about creating opportunities for businesses and communities across Africa, fostering progress and innovation on the continent.
