Tech-focused magazine, TechBerg, has unveiled Lagos State of Nigeria Honorable Commissioner for Science and Technology, Hakeem Popoola Fahm as its Tech Personality of the Week.
An award-winning personality with decades of experience in Information Technology infrastructural solutions, cloud solutions, channel and people management.
Born in 1958, he holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology from Ohio University, Athens Ohio as well as a Master in Business Administration in Computer Information and Systems Science from the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), Washington DC. His wealth of experience cuts across different fields in IT.
He began his career Computer Lab Technician and rose through the ranks to become the Chief Information Officer of the University in 2012. He led the ICT transformation at the University by building and implementing innovative solutions that include IBM Enterprise Systems Architecture, upgrading System Network Architecture to TCP/IP based platform, Blackboard for Digital Learning, Internet2 for cutting edge applications and a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution that integrates all disparate systems into a single platform.
In May 2013, he moved to Accenture Federal Services, a management and I.T. consulting firm as a Cloud Computing Architect. During his tenure at Accenture, he managed the operational modernization for the US Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Air Force, Department of Health and Human Services (Obama Care) and the Social Security Administration.
On January 10, 2018, Mr Hakeem Fahm was appointed as Honourable Commissioner of Science and Technology, Lagos State, the position he occupied to date.

Under his leadership as the commissioner of Science and Technology Lagos State, the state has witnessed an innovative transformation in the tech space.
Some of his achievements include; the establishment of the Lagos State Science Research & Innovation Council [LASRIC], an initiative set up to drive investment in research and development of tech-focused solutions, organizing Art of Technology, upgrading of GIS, which provides a fully mapping platform and an integrated end-to-end land automation system, mobile agricultural application; unmanned Aerial Vehicles-Drones and Spatial Data infrastructure among others.
His passion for technology has earned him several accolades and certifications including Special Contribution to ICT Sector award which he bagged at the Tech Innovation Awards held in Lagos recently.
Hon. Hakeem Popoola Fahm’s wealth of experience will continue to have a big impact and influence on the development of Lagos state and Nigeria’s ICT industry.
