MTN Nigeria has introduced FlyX, a new broadband solution designed to extend reliable internet connectivity to households and small businesses across the country.
Launched in Lagos on August 31, the solution combines Outdoor Units (ODUs) with an indoor component, leveraging MTN’s 4G and 5G networks to provide broadband access in locations where fibre connectivity is unavailable or indoor network reception is limited.
According to MTN, the ODUs are designed to capture stronger network signals from outside buildings, improving connectivity and bringing high-speed internet to areas that may otherwise experience weaker indoor reception.

The telecom operator said FlyX was developed in response to the increasing demand for dependable connectivity among households, entrepreneurs and remote workers as Nigeria’s digital economy continues to grow.
Designed as a plug-and-play solution, FlyX requires minimal installation and enables users to connect quickly for activities such as streaming, remote work, gaming and everyday online services.

MTN Nigeria’s Chief Broadband Officer, Egerton Idehen, said the company is focused on developing broadband solutions that address real connectivity challenges across the country.
He explained that FlyX demonstrates how MTN is leveraging its network capabilities to make broadband faster to deploy, easier to access and better suited to the evolving needs of Nigerians.
MTN also noted that FlyX offers scalable options for different users, supporting applications ranging from entertainment and gaming to remote work and business operations. The integration of ODUs is expected to further enhance signal strength and connection stability.
MTN said the launch forms part of its broader efforts to increase broadband penetration, close connectivity gaps and promote digital inclusion across Nigeria.
