MTN Eswatini has partnered with Lubane SACCO to introduce a smartphone loan scheme designed to improve access to mobile devices and connectivity for cooperative members in Eswatini.
Under the arrangement, eligible Lubane SACCO members can obtain smartphones through loans facilitated by the SACCO, alongside MTN data packages. The initiative combines device financing with telecommunications services to help more people participate in the digital economy.
The partnership was officially launched in Ezulwini on 3 October 2026. Initially, the scheme will serve Lubane SACCO members, with the possibility of extending the opportunity to members of other Savings and Credit Cooperative Organisations (SACCOs) in the future.

The initiative aims to help beneficiaries access a wider range of digital services, including communication, mobile financial services, education, business opportunities and other online platforms. By linking smartphone financing with mobile connectivity, the partnership seeks to address barriers to digital participation and strengthen financial inclusion in Eswatini.
Lubane SACCO already offers various loan products to its members and operates digital services integrated with MTN Eswatini, including mobile savings and loan-related services. The new scheme builds on the existing relationship between the two organisations.
The partnership highlights how telecommunications providers and financial cooperatives can work together to make digital devices and connectivity more accessible, potentially creating new opportunities for individuals and businesses.
