Equinix, a global digital infrastructure company, has announced an expansion of its long-standing partnership with NVIDIA to launch Equinix Inference Exchange, a distributed AI inference programme designed to help businesses run AI applications closer to their users and data. The initiative also includes a new partnership with Together AI.
As businesses move AI from testing to everyday production use, AI processing increasingly needs to happen closer to the people, data and applications using it. Equinix Inference Exchange is designed to help businesses move AI projects into production faster by providing secure and low-latency connections across different clouds, AI models, providers and locations.

The programme brings together the strengths of Equinix, NVIDIA and Together AI. Equinix will provide the physical infrastructure, including power, cooling systems and ongoing operations, while Equinix Fabric will connect the infrastructure to clouds, networks and AI providers. NVIDIA will support the system with its AI infrastructure and Enterprise Reference Architectures, designed to improve AI performance and reduce the cost of processing tokens. Together AI will operate the platform, offering both shared environments for multiple customers and dedicated systems for businesses that need their own computing capacity.

Built on Equinix Fabric, the new solution will connect businesses to AI inference providers across major cities around the world, helping reduce the time it takes for AI systems to respond. It will also connect users to a wide range of cloud, network and AI providers, making AI deployment simpler. Equinix Inference Exchange is expected to become available in the first quarter of 2027.
