South African neocloud provider Stratos Lab, global AI compute infrastructure innovator ECOBLOX, and premier South African data centre Digital Parks Africa officially announced the launch of Africa’s most powerful AI Cloud. Delivering exascale performance (7.2 EFLOPS) for sovereign AI across the continent, the deployment is powered by 50+ NVIDIA B300 HGX GPU servers, over 400 GPUs, supplied by GIGABYTE, an ECOBLOX ecosystem partner.

The launch comes as global AI compute demand accelerates, positioning Africa at a pivotal moment to build sovereign AI capabilities through this landmark strategic partnership and joint deployment.

The collaboration is aimed at setting a new standard for AI cloud infrastructure in Africa, positioning South Africa as a leading hub for sovereign AI computing. By combining expertise in AI infrastructure, cloud orchestration and Tier-3+ data centres, the partnership tackles key challenges such as power capacity, cooling and hardware availability. With 7.2 EFLOPS of computing power, African businesses can access AI services locally with lower latency and reduced costs.

A Comprehensive Ecosystem for Sovereign AI

The partnership will create a full-stack AI infrastructure ecosystem designed to support high-performance computing (HPC) and enterprise AI workloads across Africa.

ECOBLOX – AI Infrastructure & Cloud Solutions:

As an NVIDIA Preferred Partner, ECOBLOX will handle GPU cluster design, procurement, installation, optimization, and operations. Its cloud software and modular infrastructure will enable faster deployment of AI systems for businesses and cloud providers.

Stratos Lab – High-Performance Computing & Orchestration:

Stratos Lab will manage the AI service layer, providing neocloud platforms, Bare Metal-as-a-Service (BMaaS), GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) and Managed PaaS for AI applications such as model training, inference and AI agents.

Digital Parks Africa – Data Centres & Power Infrastructure:

Digital Parks Africa will provide the Data Centre facilities and reliable power infrastructure needed to safely support high-density AI computing deployments.
