Web Werks, an Indian data center provider, has announced the launch of its first data center, HYD-1, in Hyderabad. This facility, situated in the Kondapur region, is a Tier III-designed data center spanning 120,000 square feet and capable of supporting up to 5.5MW of IT load.
The launch comes as part of a joint venture between Web Werks and American IT services provider Iron Mountain, formed in 2021. The joint venture plans to invest approximately Rs 7,500 crore to establish data centers in major Indian cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Noida by 2026. The goal is to increase the total capacity in India from 40MW to 200MW.
