Vodafone Qatar has entered into a partnership with Cisco to upgrade its network in 2022, with a focus on delivering enhanced 5G services and superior user experiences. The network upgrade proved beneficial to Qatar residents and visitors attending the football tournament, as they experienced significantly faster upload and download speeds, lower latency and higher throughput.
During the football matches, Vodafone Qatar witnessed a more than doubling of network traffic at peak hours. However, with the network upgrade, the telecom provider ensured that users enjoyed optimal mobile experiences, despite the increased usage and heightened demand for social media and video streaming services.

The network upgrade involved the implementation of Cisco Ultra 5G Core, along with other Cisco solutions to enhance Vodafone Qatar’s network capabilities, such as virtual core, automation and security features. This comprehensive upgrade resulted in an increase in both network capacity and revenue for Vodafone Qatar.
