Global IT services giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has joined forces with Amazon Web Services to launch an AI practice aimed at empowering businesses to fully leverage both AI and generative AI services for enhanced outcomes across their value chain.
This collaboration, named TCS’ AWS generative AI practice, is designed to assist enterprises in swiftly identifying and scaling tailored solutions to meet their unique business requirements. By utilising AWS services, particularly Amazon Bedrock, TCS consultants will guide clients in exploring impactful use-cases, fostering collaborative experimentation, and co-innovating generative AI-powered solutions, the company said.
The hub for this co-innovation is TCS Pace Ports, strategically located in major cities like New York, Pittsburgh, Toronto, Amsterdam, and Tokyo. These hubs facilitate collaboration with academic researchers and start-up partners from TCS’ innovation ecosystem, enhancing the depth and diversity of generative AI projects.

“To make generative AI deployment effective and trustworthy, we must approach the technology holistically across multiple dimensions including creativity, productivity, and business value. Drawing from all the investments we have made in building deep capabilities in generative AI, our strong partnership with AWS, and contextual knowledge of our customers’ businesses, we help them take a comprehensive approach to realise the true potential of generative AI to drive their growth and transformation,” said Krishna Mohan, Deputy Head, TCS AI.Cloud unit.
In a bid to expedite its customers’ AI journeys, TCS has also invested in foundational training for over 100,000 employees on generative AI. Additionally, TCS plans to enhance the productivity of its clients’ IT organisations by deploying Amazon CodeWhisperer. This tool provides generative AI-powered code recommendations directly to developers, streamlining efforts and elevating code quality.
In addition to this, TCS also announced a partnership with Google Cloud in May, unveiling the TCS generative AI offering. This leverages Google Cloud’s generative AI services to design and deploy customised business solutions, enabling clients to harness the power of this transformative technology for accelerated growth and transformation.
