Google Cloud has announced a new partnership with the Saudi Pharmaceutical Industries and Medical Appliances Corporation (SPIMACO) for a major digital transformation project. As part of the initiative, 11 key applications from SPIMACO’s on-premise SAP infrastructure will be migrated to Google Cloud without disruption to business operations.
SPIMACO has chosen to collaborate with Google Cloud to support future growth, accelerate digital transformation and meet regulatory requirements. Google Cloud is one of the cloud providers in Saudi Arabia that provides solutions that support compliance with the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, a global standard in the pharmaceutical sector. Additionally, Google Cloud has extensive experience hosting various SAP ERP systems in the country.
The CEO of SPIMACO, Khaled Saleh Al Khattaf, said that the company aspires to expand into nine new markets in the pharmaceutical sector and a robust digital infrastructure is necessary to achieve this goal. The partnership with Google Cloud positions SPIMACO for success and the company’s teams have been trained during the SAP migration project to ensure that they are upskilled to the latest standards.
