Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across East and Southern Africa are poised to benefit from a groundbreaking partnership between Odoo, a leading provider of business management software, and Network International, a prominent payment solutions company.
The collaboration integrates Network International’s payment gateway into the Odoo platform, enabling SMEs to seamlessly accept card payments and mobile money within their existing software, simplifying collections and boosting sales in the region’s rapidly growing digital economy.
The integrated solution offers a single sign-in for operations and payments, equipped with fraud-protection tools and real-time data dashboards.
This allows merchants to adapt to diverse customer payment preferences, from mobile money to card transactions, as digital transactions gain traction across Africa.

“Whether it’s mobile money or cards, our users now have a tool that adapts to their customers’ needs,” said Patrick K. Lukusa, Managing Director of Odoo Kenya. Judy Waruiru, Regional Managing Director for Eastern Africa at Network International, emphasized that the partnership “makes payments smarter,” combining user-friendly functionality with the robust security standards required by regulated merchants.
For Odoo’s thousands of clients in Africa, this move eliminates complex integration challenges and accelerates payment settlements, enhancing operational efficiency. Meanwhile, Network International gains access to a growing customer base in some of Africa’s fastest-growing economies, such as Kenya and South Africa.
Industry analysts predict the partnership will improve cash-flow management for SMEs, reduce checkout abandonment, and drive the adoption of cash-lite business models that support cross-border scalability.
