The Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) of Saudi Arabia has partnered with the International Data Corporation (IDC) for the annual ICT Indicators Forum 2023, scheduled for March 8. This year’s event includes IDC’s signature ‘IDC Directions 2023 Saudi Arabia’ industry forum as part of the agenda for the second consecutive year. The forum will feature top-notch speakers, including senior leadership from ICT-enabling public sector entities across the Kingdom, local and global management from IDC and representatives from well-known ICT vendors and telecom operators.
The forum will provide an overview of the current market situation using presentations, panel discussions and real-life use cases. It will also spotlight Saudi Arabia’s progress towards becoming a digital economy by highlighting the impact of government initiatives on digital transformation across various sectors of the economy.

Hamza Naqshbandi, IDC’s associate vice president for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, commented on the Saudi government’s efforts to integrate digital transformation initiatives into its transformation journey. Naqshbandi said the execution phase of Vision 2030 would prioritize revamping and implementing digital strategies for Saudi organizations.
IDC’s keynote presentation will feature Naqshbandi and IDC’s group vice president and regional managing director for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa, Jyoti Lalchandani who will detail IDC’s technology market outlook for Saudi Arabia in a session called ‘Navigating the Storms of Disruption in 2023 and Beyond’.
Lalchandani will also moderate a panel discussion titled ‘Scaling the Digital Business to Support the Digital Economy Aspirations of Saudi Arabia’. The panel will include valuable insights and perspectives from Salman A. Faqeeh, Managing Director, Saudi Arabia, Cisco, Thamer AlHarbi, President, Microsoft Arabia, Eng Majed Abdulaziz AlOtaibi, Chief Business Officer, Mobily and Othman Alhokail, Founding Partner, Merak Capital.
