As technology continues to advance, the idea of Artificial Intelligence (AI) replacing jobs is becoming a reality. AI is being used in a variety of industries to automate processes and increase efficiency
International Business Machines (IBM) CEO Arvind Krishna said in a new interview with Bloomberg that roughly 7,800 roles in the company could be replaced by Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the near future.
Krishna pointed out that non-customer-facing roles, which account for about 26,000 workers in IBM, could see 30% of those jobs being replaced by AI and automation over the next five years.
IBM’s decision underpins the company’s strategy to cut costs and enhance efficiency through automation. This move also highlights a growing trend among big tech companies in Silicon Valley and many other big corporations to implement similar strategies of automating repetitive tasks to shore up resources and remain competitive.
