Africa-focused telecommunications company, Telecel, has officially launched in Adum-Kumasi, marking Telecel Ghana’s expansion into the Ashanti Region, following the main brand unveiling in Accra back in March 2024.
Telecel Ghana’s presence in the Ashanti Region reaffirms the company’s dedication to boosting the socio-economic advancement of the region’s populace. The Mayor of Kumasi, Sam Pyne, who welcomed Telecel on behalf of the Regional Minister, stated, “Telecel Ghana’s investment in our region promises to enhance our connectivity and empower our people economically and socially, and I am happy about the potential growth of local businesses.”
The CEO of Telecel Ghana, Patricia Obo-Nai, echoed the company’s commitment to the region, emphasising its focus on providing digital innovations and affordable telecommunication services to meet the evolving needs of Ghanaians. “I am excited about how Kumasi has received our brand. With the strong backbone of Telecel’s advanced technology and customer-centric services, Telecel Ghana is poised to bring unmatched connectivity and innovative solutions to the Ashanti region and beyond.” She affirmed.
Telecel Group, operating in over 20 African countries, made its foray into the Ghanaian market in February 2023 through the acquisition of a 70% majority stake in Ghana Telecommunication Company Limited (GTCL). The expansion into the Ashanti Region stands to further solidify Telecel Ghana’s footprint in the country’s telecommunications landscape and contribute to its socio-economic development.
