The Africa Digital Economy Awards (ADEA), Africa’s biggest technology awards, marks its 10th anniversary in 2025, celebrating a decade of honoring the visionaries and organizations driving Africa’s digital transformation. Launched in the mid-2010s, ADEA has become the continent’s premier platform recognizing excellence across fintech, healthtech, edtech, infrastructure, and more.
Now in its 10th year, ADEA will honour Africa’s digital champions, innovators, creativity, and inventions across multiple areas of an ever-evolving sector. This milestone edition introduces a special category – the Top 50 Digital Economy Leaders in Africa – spotlighting individuals shaping the continent’s digital future.
This year’s event will be hosted in Nairobi, Kenya, during the sidelines of the International Telecoms Week, Africa, attracting global and African technology and business leaders. The awards will take place at the prestigious Emara Ole-Sereni Hotel, in Nairobi, reinforcing Kenya’s position as a leading hub for digital innovation and interconnection.

“ADEA celebrates Africa’s digital champions, innovators, creativity, and inventions whose contributions have significantly impacted the continent’s digital growth and security,” said Akin Naphtal, Group Publisher of Digital Economy Magazine. “As we mark this 10th anniversary, it is even more urgent for Africa to recognize and applaud the pioneers and frontrunners advancing the digitization of every sector of our economies. This special edition will inspire the next generation to build on this legacy.”
From spotlighting early tech hubs to today’s thriving startup ecosystems, ADEA has inspired leaders to push digital boundaries. Last year’s edition, also held in Nairobi, was hailed as the “Oscars” of Africa’s ICT industry, honoring groundbreaking work driving inclusion, job creation, and economic growth.
