Internet Technologies Angola S.A. (ITA) showcased its OneWeb satellite connectivity solution at the Angola Oil & Gas 2026 conference held from September 9 to 10, highlighting how satellite technology can provide reliable communications in areas with limited terrestrial network coverage.
The solution uses low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites to deliver faster and more resilient connectivity, particularly for industries operating in remote locations where traditional telecommunications infrastructure may not provide adequate coverage.
For the oil and gas industry, OneWeb connectivity can support remote facilities, communication between field teams, operational monitoring and critical systems that require continuous data transmission. The solution can also be deployed in different ways depending on operational needs. It can serve as a primary connectivity link, provide network redundancy or operate as part of a hybrid connectivity infrastructure.

Beyond oil and gas, ITA said the technology has potential applications across sectors such as mining, agriculture and transport, as well as other businesses that require reliable digital connectivity outside conventional network coverage areas.
OneWeb operates through a constellation of satellites positioned in low Earth orbit at approximately 1,000 kilometres above the Earth, significantly closer than traditional geostationary satellites.
The lower orbital position helps reduce communication latency and supports high-speed connectivity, making the technology suitable for organisations that rely on digital platforms, real-time information exchange and business applications in locations where terrestrial connectivity is limited.
