Ericsson has introduced NetCloud Private, a new offering designed to give organisations greater control over the deployment and management of Ericsson Wireless WAN infrastructure within their own environments.
The solution is aimed at government agencies, critical infrastructure operators and other regulated organisations that depend on 5G and wireless networks for essential operations. It allows customers to centrally manage Ericsson Cradlepoint devices while keeping network-management and telemetry data within their own environment.
The launch comes as organisations face growing requirements around digital sovereignty, data protection and local data governance. Gartner predicts that more than 50% of multinational organisations will have a digital sovereignty strategy by 2029, compared with less than 10% in 2025.
NetCloud Private addresses these requirements by providing core capabilities of Ericsson’s NetCloud platform in a package that customers can host themselves. The platform enables centralised onboarding, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting and software updates for large numbers of distributed routers.
The solution is designed for environments where wireless connectivity supports critical operations, including public safety, defence, smart cities and other essential infrastructure. By keeping management and telemetry data within the customer’s environment, organisations can align network operations with local governance and data-residency requirements.

NetCloud Private can be installed directly in a customer’s data centre and is designed to operate with relatively low storage, memory and computing requirements. This makes it suitable for organisations seeking on-premises control over their wireless network management.
In the Gulf region, the platform is already being deployed in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, with additional deployments underway in other Gulf countries. In the UAE, a communications service provider will host the platform for multiple enterprise customers, while a customer in Saudi Arabia will host it for its own operations.

The development of NetCloud Private has been influenced by the requirements of organisations operating in highly controlled environments, including government agencies, service providers, public safety bodies and critical infrastructure operators. The offering provides these organisations with centralised network visibility while allowing them to maintain control over where their data and management systems operate.
NetCloud Private is scheduled to become generally available worldwide in October 2026, giving organisations globally another deployment option for managing Ericsson wireless networks while addressing their operational, data-residency and governance requirements.
