By leveraging Equinix Fabric, MainOne aims to extend its network reach and offer agile, on-demand connectivity to its enterprise customers in the region.

Equinix Fabric is a software-defined interconnection service that provides access to a vast network of over 245 International Business Exchange (IBX) data centers located in major metros and countries worldwide. Through this collaboration, MainOne’s customers will have seamless connectivity to cloud providers, remote markets and local infrastructure via the MainOne network and Platform Equinix.

As a long-time user of Equinix Fabric, MainOne has already established connections to cloud service providers, enabling private and dedicated connections for its customers in West Africa. Now, as part of the Equinix company, MainOne’s network expansion to Equinix Fabric will ensure enhanced service level agreements (SLAs) and reduced latency for critical services and applications, further supporting their customers’ digital transformation journey. The expansion will involve MainOne utilizing Equinix’s IBX data centers in Lisbon and London to create geographic diversity.
